Not sure if this was posted yet. Can't read behind paywall but it looks like Spiezio's had it pretty rough
Spiezio looks like a fat version of WCW wrestler Sting without the makeup.

Old friend Miguel Cairo is the acting manager for the White Sox while TLR is out, and has a 10-4 W/l record. Ken Rosenthal has an open letter to TLR in the Athletic urging him not to come back.
Tony really shouldn't come back since it probably won't end well for him if he does come back next year. Right now record wise he won the AL Central last year and had a .500 record this year so if he walks away now it won't be viewed as a terrible time having him return to managing. But if he came back next year he'll likely end up getting fired in May/June.

Giants selected the contract of RHP Shelby Miller from Triple-A Sacramento.

Miller has yet to appear in a game at the MLB level this season, but he was sporting an encouraging 2.87 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 53 1/3 innings of work between the Triple-A affiliates of the Yankees and Giants. The 31-year-old right-hander had recently been operating as the primary closer at Sacramento and should get high-leverage relief opportunities in San Francisco over these final couple of weeks.

The Mets signed Tommy Pham.
It’s a one-year, $6MM contract for Pham, tweets Jon Heyman of the New York Post. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale adds that the contract contains $2MM of available incentives and is expected to be finalized Thursday.

On top of Pham’s $6MM, the Mets owe a 90% luxury tax of $5.4MM, bringing their total tab for the signing to $11.4MM. New York’s projected bottom-line payroll for the 2023 season jumps to a bit more than $356MM, with about $374MM in luxury-tax considerations on the books. That puts them in well into the top luxury bracket and sets the stage for the Mets to be a third-time payor in the 2024 season, which point they’d owe an even steeper 110% tax on every dollar spent above the top line.

Was just wondering about him and if he'd signed anywhere yet.

Crummy way for Dex to finish things off. I hope he catches on somewhere else.
Guess not. He has announced his retirement after a 14 year career.

Good luck Dex. We all had such high hopes.
