Pretty proud of this article I wrote about the career of Brian Jordan. It’s gotten some decent traction, too: https://redbirdrants.com/posts/wrong-p ... gn51z5ak5f
Thank you: it's a very good article.

Maybe this has been noted, but it is the first I had heard that Chuck Carr passed away. I was pretty excited when he went to St. Louis.

Maybe Lars can be the guy we hoped DC would be.

DC feels like a victim of dead ball. Guy just doesn't hit very hard, I am not sure where his slugging came from in AA/AAA unless it was the juiced ball. But if all he is is Dexter Fowler, you take that over most alternatives.

Nootbaar's dedication to perfecting his swing and Jeff Albert seemed like a match made in heaven. Hope Turner Ward carries that on. But I do hope they're looking at more "hit clinic" specialists to put in the clubhouse.

He hits a good amount of fly balls and 26 HR in mostly AA, hitter friendly at that, followed up with 18 in the bigs a couple years later sounds about right. He's got the launch angle but just doesn't hit the ball all that hard. Kind of like the mediocre version of Matt Carpenter. He's young enough to figure it out but MLB power hitters and really all good MLB hitters hit the ball hard. He's consistently bottom of the barrel in exit velo. Or in other words, it's not necessarily the baseball, 380' fly balls work at Hammons but you get mixed results in the major leagues.
