You can have a leg kick and a long finish and still be quick to the ball. These components get particularly tough to decipher what's what with lefties for some reason. I think it's the loopy finish. He's certainly working on that, though. He went from a Bryce Harper softball swing in the showcase to doing a lot of drills where he's not picking up his front foot at all. Like a rotational Jim Edmonds setup almost.

When we talk about guys like DeJong, Bader, Carpenter etc who have some ups and downs it really makes me think that mechanics takes a real backseat to simple pitch recognition skills as you climb the ladder in pro ball - all these guys are BP gods. If you've got that the rest is just details and if you don't you're flailing at sliders.
