This is an awful trade by the Marlins -- which means Mo should be on the phone right now trying to fleece this GM, Kim Ng, yet again!
Even worse is her plan to play Arreaz at 2b, where he has been horrible defensively. Is she nuts?
Statcast ranks him among the worst 2b in baseball -- and the Twins didn't even play him there regularly (when they did it was bad).
He's slow, a weak arm, and has had shoulder and knee injuries -- just what you want at 2b with the rule changes.

Again Mo - strike while the iron is hot and get Luzardo or Cabrera for 1/2 price like they sold Lopez!

Marlins must read cardinals Twitter, and paid top dollar for Arraez because he won the batting avg title.

This is rich. What are the comps on Edman and Arreaz as just middle-infielders, not directly to their position?

Que up the "Lopez just wasnt going to move the needle as much for us" quote from the FO. Feels like Gorman+ could've gotten it done. But i dont know anything about the Salas guy they added.
Arreaz is a 4 win player. Not sure Gorman + is enough if the + are prospects not named Winn or Hence, and if they wanted them, no thank you.
3ish fWAR in 600+ PAs and only one season doing so

seems like a Donovan-like bat with a worse glove

Other than Alcantara, Lopez would've been the arm from the marlins I'd have been most in on. But we don't really neeeeed pitching.

The Cardinals do play probably the worst 2B'man in the majors quite a bit in Nolan Gorman, and moved an OF'er to 2B, with disastrous results, in the current Miami Marlins manager.
