Who was better than him? In my opinion, he is in the top 3 baseball players (hitters) ever.

1. Babe Ruth
2. Hank Aaron
3. Albert Pujols
Well, sure, career-wise, but there a couple of Cardinals prospects like Nick Stavinoha who had microseconds of brilliance. If he'd played on a place like the moon with less gravity, he'd have put up better home-run numbers.

Even IF he lied about his age, who cares?
Weird writers? Like I said. There will be some reason. Always is. Mariano is only unanimous lately.

Age lying matters to Angels and signing a ten-year deal. Like a lot. Age cliffs and projection, etc. Obviously I don't care about billionaire funds but some writers will probably simp for them for sure.

If Albert lied about his age, then the season he just put up at age 50 is even more impressive. 703 HR is 703 HR no matter what age he hit them at.

No, some chud will leave Albert off as some type of self-important steroid era protest.
There's no question he was less than truthful about his age. This is not an "if." (Samson interview, Dotel Yahoo report, etc.). I mean look at him during his "age 21 season" not to discriminate but lol.

Age lying only matters to Angels FO. And maybe their beat writers. Because they'll feel the age cliff wasn't taken in account on the contract and that he "stole" money.

Babe isn't even top 50 to me lol. Era being white only is a big reason and just really unathletic. Yes he dominated a bunch of boys where he could swing the lumber, deserves credit, but gets too much IMO. Is Josh Gibson better than Babe Ruth? Willie Mays is so much better than Ruth IMO. Babe Ruth also had ground rule doubles counted as home runs. Mays was stuck in the 600 foot wall or whatever Polo Grounds. Lots of factors to consider.

To me it's

Bonds
Mays
Trout
Pujols
A-Rod

Roids be damned, these guys played the game so much better than their peers. Bonds pitch recognition ability is the best of all time. Take 80-100 WAR off for roids if you must lol. Still a GOAT. Mays was such an insane hitter.

Pujols was a 141 wRC+ career hitter. That's not GOAT territory. Just short. Goldy is higher career wise.

Decent chance Aaron Judge could be one of the best all time hitters if he just keeps doing his thing.

Probably an argument that Willie Mays is 3 and AP is four, which just shows what a rare tier AP is in. Also, obviously, Barry Bonds slots in at 1 or 2, and Arod would be up there too, but that's a whole other thing.
