Close fight, I'd say GGG won but I'm a little biased. Third fight will be fun.

and this...

http://theboxingtribune.com/2017/01/18/ ... le-secret/
A pool (of judges) is chosen by the lead promoter (Golden Boy) and then the commission selects three:

"A list of judges, pre-approved by the lead promoter, is taken by the sanctioning body to the commission (which is also often filled with buddies and old cronies of the promoter) and, from that list, three judges are appointed for the bout. The promoter is then responsible for not only providing payment to the judges, but in some states, required to provide for food, accommodations, and a small per diem to cover the judges’ expenses. In other words, the current system is one where the promoter is in control of virtually every aspect when it comes to selection and compensation of the officials."

This roided up version of Álvarez from the last couple years is pretty crazy. He’s at that prime cross section of physical attributes, skill, and experience. GGG is the only guy out there capable of beating him and he’s getting older by the day. His best shot would be knocking him out, but he can’t because Canelo’s chin is crazy and he makes shots glance, and the judges are in the bag, so that ain’t happening either. Wouldn’t bother running it back.

Canelo didn’t kick it past 3rd gear or open up his bag of tricks and still won 116-112 against Jacobs

Given what we know, dont see him losing in the foreseeable future.

I don’t follow boxing but the way the result was covered it seems this was a major upset. And one that wasn’t really liked by fans.

Man, I feel like Joshua holding the belts was what was really bad for boxing and fans. He was perfectly content to take fights at home in the UK, in big venues like Wembly and Cardiff, and get big paychecks for filling those places in front of his countrymen. He fought the lesser Klitschko when the lesser Klitschko was over 40, and the lesser Klitschko hurt him, knocking him down, before Joshua TKOed him. He fought Dillian White, a kickboxing/MMA crossover, who hurt him but he eventually beat. He dodged every great opponent he could in the Floyd Mayweather way--let the big money fight stew for a while, fight a bunch of bums for a good paycheck instead. Then he took one look at Ruiz, underestimated him, and got knocked out.

I'm glad he's not champ anymore.
