Yeah. First to home before the ball reached the cutoff man.

I can confirm the 3.8 time ... I watched it twice on mlbtv and had a stopwatch on it. That's from the *right* side folks, and just to give you some perspective 4.2/4.3 is considered mlb average, anything under 4 is exceptional. So .2 of a second faster than average gets you into that "fast" category - a pretty big leap - and Trout takes that same size leap past the fast guys. Off the charts.

Correction the cutoff thing though - the SS had the ball when he scored. But still, scoring from first on a double is something that happens but isn't a given, and he was about 3 steps shy of the plate when the SS got the cutoff throw. Andrus just ran the ball back in, no chance.

Exciting player, he's going hit for a high average not only because he will beat fairly routine stuff out but also the infield is going to have to play so shallow alot of balls are going to sneak through that wouldn't for other players. And anything hit any distance at all from an outfielder is a double candidate. He'll lead the world in doubles that got cut off by the OF'ers.

I just noticed Albert Pujols' OPS+ this year is higher than Alfonso Soriano's in his career year with the Nationals.

1. sss
2. He's 19.
3. His value isn't 100% in offense
4. Is this your way of doubting? If so, I'd love to make your post my sig.

No, the idea wasn't to say "Mike Trout ain't nevah gonna be nothin'". I just found it amusing after reading this thread gushing about his play that he's off to a 4 for 30 start. I think I have prospect fatigue or something since half the Cubs Top 10 has flamed out this year.
