Re: General Soccer Thread
I like the roster moves. Let's see what some of the young, exciting guys can do. With , Lichaj, Holden, and Dempsey out, there's a chance for Chandler, Shea, and Torres to step right into those 3 spots.thrill wrote:Some roster names for the impending Mexico-pay-off-Bradley's-remaining-contract-cash-grab *cough* I mean friendly are slowly leaking.
Timmy Chandler, Stevie C, Bill Hamid, Tim Howard (controversial move, Klinsy), Freddy Adu and Juan Agudelo.
Let's see what they got!
Frankly, I'm glad he's done w/ Altidore. I think Adu and Agudelo are the future up front. Also, I like Ream, and bet he gets a lot of tick for Klinsman,

He's not. Jozy's got an ankle knock and he's trying to get settled in Holland. He'll be called in for Belgium if he's healthy.robbotis wrote:Frankly, I'm glad he's done w/ Altidore.

Hopefully, he can drink better than he can score goals.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:Jozy has been legally able to drink for 8 months.
Cause he sure sucks at scoring.

From linked article:thrill wrote:Good article explaining the Mexico-USA soccer rivalry: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6835319/on-border
In 2004, Landon Donovan, one of the milder stars in world sports, outraged the Mexican media by peeing on the pitch at the Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara.1 Mexico won the subsequent match, a crucial Olympic qualifier, 4-0, and the crowd celebrated by chanting "Osama."
1. It was during a training session, and he ducked behind a bush, but for a guy whose Gatorade commercial is all about inner poise it couldn't have been much more flagrant.
So, there is a bush on the pitch in Guadalajara?

How many does he have to score at AZ this year for you to get back on board or at the very least not write him off?robbotis wrote:Hopefully, he can drink better than he can score goals.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:Jozy has been legally able to drink for 8 months.

Just curious, because it looks like he'll be getting his chances this year.
