I was third on the scene trying to get the homer. Disappointing, no doubt. Ushers said the winner was taken away by security, likely negotiating a king's ransom for the ball.

I saw that guy holding onto it for dear life, like he was expecting it to be stripped away any second.

Yeah, there were six or so of us initially going for it, but once those two guys dove on the ground everyone let up. I kept on in there in case it squirted free while they were wrestling. I never saw the actual ball once they jumped on it, I think he already has it tucked somewhere, and really never had a chance at it. But you see so many people have foul balls and homers land in their lap after deflecting off others, I wanted to at least give it a shot.
