Albert adds a lot, but offensively that club is not especially formidable. It's an old club, and will need big years from Kendrick, Bourjos, and Trumbo to compete with Texas, NYY, Boston, etc.

The Angels would give Albert a better chance to win, but the difference is probably one extra playoff berth in ten years. Plus with the upcoming playoff format changes, this is likely going to be negligible. If its World Series titles he's after it really wouldn't make any realistic difference whether it was the Cardinals or the Angels.
