Ms. Pujols was quoted on twitter as to saying that if the 10/210 had been on the table they would be wearing the birds on bat today.

Someone asked strauss about it and he says the offer was indeed on the table as it was confirmed by multiple reports.

A few things

1. How many players wives are as vocal about the contract as she is?

2. Why is she so vocal? (is it because she runs the foundation?)

3. they are putting so much spin on this so quick and hard it makes me wonder if they have already seen a backlash to the foundation and restauraunt?


All I know is the more they talk the more I am glad they are gone. After that article from Strauss it was the first time I came to grips with it all and am at peace with it. Bernie's article summed my feelings up perfectly. Who knows though, if MO and DeWitt were as vocal maybe they would sound pretty stupid to.

I am ready for ST and ready for another Cardinal WS minus AP...best way to knock the "Angels gave me a better chance to win" is to go out and prove him wrong.

careful though, reports are the Cards offer of 10 years was on the table but all of the years weren't guaranteed. I just read that DeWitt himself was asked if they had a 10 year deal on the table and he said, "he had a 10 year opportunity."

That makes me think 1-2 years were options. Well, if AP5 had so much confidence in his ability to perform into his 40's, that shouldn't have fazed him. He should have been sure he could have gotten his options picked up as he must think he'll still be an all-star at 40 to demand the money he's getting. if not, he knows at the root of it all that he's fleecing his employer.

Also, the Angels money isn't deferred, but the Cards was. I don't know what to say about that, but it's not like AP would need walking around money and be strapped because it's deferred.

The PSC contract is another story. If it's $2 million a year for 10 years from anaheim, I think STL should have matched that. He earned something like that from STL.

1.) They'll raise more money in Hollywood for their foundation.
2.) They don't care about a sports bar in Westport Plaza (Pujols doesn't own it) when he just banked $25 million a year for 10 years.
