I'm so confused. If, as $epp Blatter says, there is no racism in soccer, what was Suarez suspended for?

Liverpool had the most unintentionally funny PR mistake I can recall on their website briefly (until someone had the good sense to take it down) in response to the Suarez decision. It was basically a one page manifesto that boiled down to 1) Luis Suarez couldn't have said the N word because he had some black friends when he played at Ajax and 2) Luis Suarez couldn't have said the N word because one of his great grandpas was black.

While, if Suarez said what he is excused of saying, it's definetly classless. It's a dangerous suspension. One guys word versus another. Apparently there wasn't really anyone on either side to corraborate, or deny what happened. Lots of trash talk happens, w/ all the different languages, things can get misunderstood, translated, confused. I'm not defending Suarez, its just a tricky situation. I guess an 8 game ban will send a message.

I think it's more of FIFA turning the screws on the English FA who has reacted pathetically slow to this and the John Terry incident (who is facing criminal racism charges, btw).

Everton drew Fulham in the next round of the FA cup, so we'll finally get to see Dempsey v Donovan in Europe. Clint has been carrying Fulham at an incredible level. He's going to net 20 this year without playing up top until they need a late goal (basically the same role he plays for the US).

If he moves to a big club this window, Fulham are done. Which is why he won't.

Good guy, but goes down like a half-weight bowling pin. Plays too wide, doesn't hold up the ball as you say. Not worth $270k in this league with this cap and we get cap space beyond that as well. Happy with the deal. But I'd be happier if he produced like we thought he would and he could stick around to be the face a bit longer.

We got The Train's son now. But he's probably not ready to step right in. I'm interested to see who we bring in.

The pick is first round 2013, not #13 today.
