I went to the game last night. I cant put into words how p***ed off I was, even when we were winning. Pujols doing his wells impression. Nobody working counts. Haren being pulled with 85 pitches, Downs punking Daric Barton, then being pulled for Jepson. I was sitting by the bullpen, and when Jepson starting warming up I couldnt believe it, figuring he was just throwing a side session or something. Nope.

Tonight was a hangover effect from that. Theres only 2 guys right now, Howie and Iannetta, that i have faith in when they come to the plate. Torii is slightly behind them. Thats about it. And I dont care about the legend, Pujols gets no slack from me. Yeah, I know its gonna take time to adjust, get comfortable. But its his approach thats killing me. He looks just as impatient and unrealistic as wells.

New ownership o the Dodgers should be in place by the end of the month. The arguably best positional player and best pitcher in the game reside in Chavez Ravine. If the Angels don't turn it around soon they will be completely lost in the LA media and public conscious. This team cannot afford a slow start if they want the stadium filled.

Buzz is everything in LA/OC. The Angels don't have it. This is a major, major problem in a fickle market.

what concerns me most about TGHOHG is that he isn't drawing walks at all.
It's funny, instead of him positively influencing the rest of the lineup, it's been the other way around.

He only had 61 last season, the lowest total in his career. He was intentionally walked much less frequently last year, but even if you remove those from the equation, he still walked at a lower rate than at any point in his career.

All the Dodgers have to do is compete again and they will be the #1 team in LA. Despite Arte Moreno's attempts to fool everyone, people know that his team actually plays in Orange County.

I think the Dodgers are hurt by the high sales price and McCourt keeping the land which sends the message being an a-hole leads to success, and the Dodgers still have a long way to go to improve the fan experience. The Angels have a stronger base than you might think.

A high of 16.4% in '09. Down to a more human 14.6% in '10. A pedestrian 9.4% last year. And a Matt MG Adams' level this year - 5.8%.


And if you look hard at his plate discipline #'s you'll see that for the past few years he's been progressively swinging at more pitches outside of the zone, and making more contact on those balls out of the zone (and the implication is those are translating to more outs).

Over the same time period, the % of balls in the zone that he's received has gone down from 49.9% to 42%. So, he's seeing less strikes, swinging at more balls, walking less, and making weaker contact on the balls he's swinging at. And there's absolutely no doubt that it's a trend and his overall production has dropped along with this trend.
