Nights like the one we just had are so bizarre. I was on the cell to my daughter for the 9th inning. The home phone started ringing before the pile of Cardinals was fully formed on the diamond. Sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins. Calling me, calling her, emails flying in, IMs going crazy. A victory kiss with the wife. A victory slurp from the dogs. A long awaited champagne toast. More calls. Listening to FlashChat go nuts. Doing the Albert sky-pointing thing and toasting Grandma, who is celebrating with Grandpa and Uncle Tom and Aunt Pat somewhere up there. Wondering how it would feel to have been downtown last night. Thinking about the now empty lot where the fireworks were set off and all the memories. El Birdos. Cha Cha. Gibby. 1.12. 17Ks. Flood. Redemption. Brock. 105. 118. Bleacher Bum. 1982. Powder Blues. Willie. Sutter. Celebrate. 1985. The Heat Is On. Walking Underwear. Tudor. Ozzie. Jack Clark. Go Crazy. 1998. Mac. Maris. 62. 70. Pardon me while I stand and applaud. Tribute to America. Jack Buck. DK57. RIP. 3 Night in August. TLR. El Hombre. Scotty. Old School. Jimmy. MV3. Matty Mo. Woody. Matheny. ER. Reggie. Walker. Group hug.

I have to call Mom today. And Dad too.

:TimeForGuinness: :toast:

Heaven

I was down inside one of the tents at Al's place and grabbed my girlfriend to watch the fireworks outside. I'll never forget last night.

It was too chaotic. I tried calling Captain Morgan and he tried to get hold of me, but I was dropping most of my calls and couldn't hear anyway. TFG called me and screamed something after they won, but I couldn't tell what he was saying. I missed a call from planet as well. If my girlfriend hadn't come out to get me at Hrabosky's entrance, I never would've found anyone. It was people hugging and spraying beer everywhere.

Your voicemail was hilarious. I think it was too loud to hear that you got my message and weren't actually talking to me.

I just thought you GRB'R would like to here about one of the greatest nights of my life. I didn't have tickets to go to the game. I cam in from school and my friend and I were just going to go downtown and sit outside, I didn't even care about getting in, I just wanted to be there when it happened. Right before we left for the downtown, his uncle callled and said that his friend is incharge of tickets and had two tickets to get in the stadium. SO I GOT TO GO TO THE GAME FOR 50 BUCKS! I couldn't believe I got in.

When we won I jumped into a the arms of a guy I didn't even know, I just jumped and he caught.

Then I went all the way down on to the first row and was on FOX like 4 times, and got videos on my phone of Duncan, Weaver, Johnson, Kinney shaking and slapping everyones hand. Those will be on there forever. Also little Weaver was running around with Jeff and had a Cards hat on. When he came by I said, "Screw the Angels, PLEASE come to the Cardinals" and he said OK.

Then I went down to Paddy O's for about two hours, which was absolutely nuts. "That one guy" was there singing, pouring shots in to peoples mouth. It was absolutely nuts.

And then around 3, head to Uncle Bills and had some breakfast.

It was probably top 5 moment in my life, and I can't believe it happened.

Wondering how it would feel to have been downtown last night.
Everyone was friends with everyone. I high-fived whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, jews, muslims, christians, people from West County, people from Jefferson County, 80 year olds, 10 year olds, drunk people, sober people, cops, firemen....

It was the biggest party in the history of St. Louis and I'll remember it for the rest of my life. Everyone came together last night.

Wait... there wasn't violence and mayhem? I thought you were supposed to start fires and flip over cars after a championship.

I love St. Lou......
