This song came to mind while reading your post. Doesn't really tell the story of a murder, but I always felt the implication was that he was going to kill her for doing a "bad, bad thing".

There are a boatload of old country/folk murder ballads. I think they came over from England.

I can't believe Uncle Tupelo's Lilli Schull isn't available on youtube.

Sorry, JL. I haven't watched the series so didn't know this was on True Blood until I looked for a video.
