Well, he's still into the Mario stuff, and that's really the only reason he likes it. He's just 9. They've got two Mario titles he's wanting. I don't want a game system for that. He still plays his xbox 360, and I almost upgraded to the xbox one in summer but didn't. Only thing I hate about xbox is the lack of MLB titles.

I want "The Show", but they don't have it on xbox at all. Last MLB game on xbox was 2k14. It's not nearly as good, but we do update rosters and create rookies.

I don't want that corner being $300 for a couple of games, though! Especially when that could be the extent of it.

ive accepted that xbox won't have a good MLB title. i had the mlb2k with lincecum on the cover and it was awful.

im too "embedded" with microsoft/xbox to switch to PS but yeah, i wish i had the show.

It's the only thing Xbox is missing really. I really wish they'd do something to rival The Show.

However, it's super arcadey but Super Mega Baseball is a lot of fun. I can't believe I liked it but I really do. One of my top 3 Xbox One games for sure.

so i got it all hooked up, downloaded updates yada yada. whats the first game i play with this modern gaming machine? conkers bad fur day, from the n64 era.

rare replay is pretty sweet and one reason why i went with this particularly bundle. and to think i still have 29 more games to play on it. then i got the walking dead season 1 (which was free with games with gold; the entire season plus 400 days expansion!; though i already had it on 360), valiant hearts: the great war (free with gold), ori and the blind forest (part of bundle) and i still need to install the gears ultimate edition (part of bundle). once i get fallout 4, i wont need to buy a game in a long time. plus, its fun to have a new toy.

Went to order last night and Amazon had a special for an Xbone plus a free game. Only specific bundles and games are available though. Console came with Lego Movie which I picked for the kids, but you could get the Gears of War or Halo bundles. Ended up getting GTA for the free game because I still play it over anything else, and I want some of the next gen features. And I won't have to pay for the same game again.

Plan on getting Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront when they come out. Those 3 games ought to hold me for a long time.

I think the console + free game is still going on, though the options might have reduced.

i got 1TB (which clearly will be needed) xbox 1, gears ultimate edition, rare replay and ori and the blind forest, for 400.

oh and yeah, you're right, will need to get GTA.

one thing that was a bummer, i did notice some screen tearing on the bottom portion of my tv screen, particularly during a little bit of TWD i played. my tv is about 7 years old, and i think it only can do 720 resolution so maybe thats part of it. i've wanted/needed a newer tv for awhile now but it will be pushed back further now, hah. hopefully can get one next year.

there's also that, getting used to the new console and the buttons and the layout of the dashboard, etc. plus, trying to find as many preferences i can change/cater to myself from the get go.

Yeah, don't know much about Battlefront, but from what little I've seen that seems to be one I could spends days on. And my son, too. That might be the way to steer him away from the Wii U.

battlefront definitely looks awesome. i am a little burned out on FPS's but i do think switching it to a star wars theme could make it a lot more fun. and i've seen so many funny clips online of hilariously crazy things happening online, like this (i think he swears so NFSW)
