for some reason, one of my brothers and his buddies (in college, usually drunk) always had the debate of who is better: springsteen or seger. it would cause wars man. you really had to pick a side.

It's Seger for me easily.

I have introduced my 3-yr old great nephew to Pretty Pimpin' with similar results. I'll have to give Rock Lobster a try.

Pretty Pimpin' taught 'Zeus Jr. how to memorize the days of the week. He walks around the house singing to himself "it was a Monday, no Tuesday, no Wednesday Thursday Friday and then Saturday came around" all day.

Beware Rock Lobster. It seems like a fun, innocuous, silly beach song. But after you've heard it for the 150th time, it takes on sinister overtones and you want to drop an atom bomb on the ocean itself.
