Totally bummed about this. I haven't posted much lately, but GRB was the place I came everyday to help escape the crap in the real world and read about our favorite team. Thanks to all for making this such a great board. It will be missed.

Not at all. It's not a terribly forgiving place for Cards fans(those that are there are generally more active in social/other sports forums), but you're more than welcome to stop by.

So, is someone going to reveal who Pinnacle was now?

hint: it wasn't me. Well... it was once or twice. :)

I really enjoy this board. Everyone here seems incredibly knowledgable about a ton of subjects, yet not too intimidating.
I was on one of the huzzah boards for a long long time (the one with cards, braves, Dodgers) but it got too toxic and I bailed. Glad I found this place and even more appreciative that y'all have put up with me. I hope to follow to the next board if you'll have me

How long after the 12th will you instinctively continue to log on to the site only to be reminded, "oh yeah, it's shut down"?

I will echo the comments made before me. Thanks, Michael and the other mods. This place has become such an integral part of many of our lives that it will be truly missed. Seems strange to say about a website but it's true.

FWIW I visit a different message board and the guy who ran it recently "retired". He sold it to three other posters and they kept it running without missing a beat. Don't know if that's something Michael would even consider doing, but I'm throwing it out there. I don't have the IT knowledge to manage a message board, but I'd certainly be willing to be an investor or "owner".

A sad day, indeed. I have lurked for a decade, but visited daily. I have mentioned a hundred times to my wife that you are all the smartest individuals on the interwebs. Thanks for all of the memories, laughs and amazing amount of baseball knowledge you have bestowed upon me.

Wow, this almost feels like a death in the family. I come here everyday to at least read, if not post. Became a big part of my life. I'll miss LOL'ing out loud while reading the funny posts, & the learning from viewpoints over the major events. I cherish the memories of us enjoying the Cardinals through the years, especially 2006 & the amazing run in 2011. Man, what a gut punch.

heyzeus wrote:Question for Mikey - will the archives of GRB go away, or remain like a ghost of what once was? There may be a nostalgiac day 6 years from now when I want to go back and read the MSPaint thread, or the Game 6 of 2011 WS thread.
I have the same question, because I still read some of the special archives.
