I thought I would pop in to say that this was a great run, and while my time was short, I thoroughly enjoyed posting here. I realize I could be smug, condescending and my humor cringe-worthy, but I was young and immature. So my apologies to people I offended or treated disrespectfully. I learned a lot from this forum, and it's pretty crazy to think about how much our understanding of baseball has changed since its inception. I felt indifferent to sabermetrics when I started, but as my understanding improved, so too did my appreciation. It made me an even bigger, more invested fan.

For that, I have GRB to thank.

The Social forum was what really brought this place together and made it feel like a community. Hopefully whatever becomes of GRB, whether it transitions to someone else or migrates elsewhere, I can be a part of the community.

Cheers.

I always thought that avatar was great for you. I think it made people even more pissed at what you wrote. :)

We've seen a few members grow up just by reading their posts over the years. At first it was fairly obvious they were young, probably even teenagers, they took a lot of good natured ribbing. But as time has passed their posts have become more thoughtful and mature as time went by.

I think some of are just realizing how important this board has been to us all. Hopefully this place does carry on in some other form, but if this is it then it's been a great run.

I know it sounds weird to say, but it's definitely going to free up a lot of my time during the day at work (and that's NOT a good thing).

For the past 10yrs this forum has been a place to shoot the [expletive], talk baseball, discuss current events, and it created multiple laughs each and everyday that i logged on here.

Even though most of us wouldn't be able to pick each other out of a lineup (well, me and mini-Miles aside) i still felt as though i knew the regular posters just as well (and in some cases better) than some friends and family. In all seriousness, i will miss this place greatly.

GRB wouldn't load at work this morning for about five minutes - I had a brief panic attack thinking that Michael pulled the plug early.
