Looks like I'm headed to Brooklyn.

As expected, ‘90s stars Pearl Jam and Tupac Shakur will enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility.

They will be joined in the class of 2017 by progressive rock band Yes and first-time ballot entries Joan Baez, Journey and the Electric Light Orchestra.

Are there any Halls of Fame more pointless than the Rock n Roll one? Tim, I don't know which of those bands you really like, but Yes and Journey? Well, if it were "bands the average music fan couldn't name more than one song by, if you held a gun to their heads", or "bands which sucked for far far longer than they were good", then they'd be first-ballot for me.

I'm a Pearl Jam fan. Of course it's pointless! But I may go anyway. I love the museum in Cleveland though

Just bought tickets to Sigur Ros at the Peabody in June. I've only listened to them here and there but I'm sure I'm in for an experience.

I guess my 22K song music library is becoming obsolete and it's time to sign up for a premium streaming music service. The kid is pushing Spotify. I've used both it and Pandora free versions and they're okay. And Apple music is out there which may make sense because my library is in iTunes. One thing I didn't like about Spotify is they don't have some music that I want because of licensing or some crap like that (probably applies to the other services as well). Any way around that? Can I upload songs that I already own to plug those gaps?

Appreciate your advice.

been a spotify user for years and i dont see any reason to cancel my sub _yet_.

like you said, there are licensing issue with some artists (tool, taylor swift, garth brooks off the top of my head), but i think some are coming around. The black keys just put their entire catalog on spotify.

one issue i have run into is the fact that i no longer have unlimited data, so i dont really stream music anymore, at least when im not on wifi.

Im actually currently right in the process of making all my playlists available offline but really that kind of defeats the purpose cause it will end taking up a [expletive] of space on my phone, but i reckon thats the only workaround right now.

Overall i like spotify, but then again i havent used any other service. I imagine they all have their pros and cons though.

I'm just seeing this and had no idea they were coming to town. Everyone I know who's seen them raves about their show.

This won Best Video at some MTV award thing...Really chill and sad, but really well done.
