After last night my reaction was to just burn the team to the ground and start over from top to bottom. I will get over that feeling as soon as they win another game but until then, it's painful to watch.

Yeah, that was brutal. They are definitely in a tailspin right now.

If they don't start improving soon do you dump Hitch and turn it over to Yeo? Or do you let Hitch run em into the ground and start fresh next year?
I personally would dump Hitch if we get close to losing a playoff spot.

I've been for dumping Hitch when the team was playing better than this, so yes, I'm all for dumping him. Let's see what Yo's got. He'll get a fresh start next year, but lets see if he can pull this team out from the grave.GeddyWrox wrote:If they don't start improving soon do you dump Hitch and turn it over to Yeo? Sure, they're in 3rd right now...but as I just heard on the radio, they're closer to 12th than they are to 2nd.
But honestly, this team has NO shot at contending for the Cup this year. The goal tending is a mess and Allen is quickly proving he might not have what it takes to be a #1 goalie in this league (which really sucks because they just handed him an extension), they're under-sized and don't play a speed game like they thought they were going to be able to do, they take WAY too many bad penalties, etc. Right now, they just aren't a good team.

There's no chance he gets fired in his final season. I'm just punting this season. The worst thing they can do is trade assets for a goalie because as bad as Allen has been, we still have other problems. Hopefully, they get a good return on Shatty.GeddyWrox wrote:If they don't start improving soon do you dump Hitch and turn it over to Yeo? I totally agree. It's just tough to watch this team tank when in all likelihood part of their struggle is that they still don't like Hitch's system/approach. So we're giving up a year with some pretty good young talent in the mix to spare an old coach (albeit a future HOFer) 20-30 games? I get it. I think you're right. But it still irks me. But by October, I'll be over it.MrCrowesGarden wrote:There's no chance he gets fired in his final season. I'm just punting this season. While I'm all for seeing Hitch go, I agree that management doesn't have the stones to do it in his final season.
And the players have never really bought into Hitch's system and style of play and the constant line changes has been something that's been a constant annoyance to the players.
