General dumb Vaccine Questions if anyone has info:, I know I can google it but there is so much to sort, and lots of BS etc etc

Why does this vaccine take so long?

Does it do any good for people that are infected already?

Every vaccine takes a long time, development, testing etc.

It will do no good for infected people now. Even if there was one. Which there isn't.

People talk about the long timeline for the usual stages of testing with animal trials, etc, but it sure seems like it would be worthwhile to take on much more risk than normally acceptable to try and shorten that path.

I agree, but it has always seemed like a year is the general rule of thumb for new vaccines.

They sent us all home yesterday to work from home. It has been a brutal week - I worked all day Saturday and all day Sunday - have to be on or near my computer between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm daily until April 3.

The girls have been great so far - I set up a home office in the guest room - they have only bugged me 3759 times today.

Mrs. Wart has only bugged me about 120 times today - sorry, I gotta order a truck of toilet paper, I can't come mop the floor right now dear.

This was the thing when I was working from home. Hard for loved ones not to consider you 'home' when you are in the house. If you can find a cranny that is out of the way in the attic or basement or garage or an out building its better than a den/office/spare bedroom that people can see/hear you in.

I had to get a wifi extender so I could get a better connection in this spare bedroom - glad there is a lock on the door.
Just had a video conference call with the office - nobody had their cameras on - quite surreal actually. I still get up and take a shower before I get to work - need to keep some sort of regular schedule.

Very much agreed. Maybe they'll debate it for 14 months and shorten the time frame by a couple weeks or so.

They have already forgone animal testing and administered a test vaccine

I mean, I would encourage my dad in his immuno-compromised state to take that test vaccine. He's 72, has cancer, has had 2 heart surgeries, and has lost over 100 pounds in the past year. COVID-19 would be disastrous for him.
