Re: Coronavirus
Trust me, the people that know me well know I don't need one of those.

By the way, here's something that mentions false negative rates of COVID-19 tests:mikechamp wrote: ↑June 1 20, 2:14 pmYour last sentence made me wonder: Are there such things as false negatives?sighyoung wrote: ↑June 1 20, 2:07 pmAll state and residents in my mother's nursing home were tested for the coronavirus on Friday, as part of a statewide program requiring testing in all nursing homes. Three residents and four staff in my mother's unit tested positive, although all were asymptomatic (and I know there's a high rate of false positives). I think the facility is moving very aggressively to deal with this, but it doesn't surprise me that staff and patients may have it. Frankly, I'm shocked that my mother wasn't one of the people who tested positive.

I see Jerauld County, SD is now listed as an emerging hot spot. There is roughly 2,000 people living in the entire county. If they all got the virus, it would be about the same as what New York is seeing in two days.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. -- The Camden County Health Department said Friday a Boone County resident who has tested positive for COVID-19 visited the Lake of the Ozarks during Memorial Day Weekend.
According to Health Director Bee Dampier, the case arrived at the Lake on Saturday and started showing symptoms on Sunday. Dampier said it is likely COVID-19 was incubating illness during that person's visit.
"Due to the need to inform mass numbers of unknown people, we are publicly releasing the following timeline, which was provided by the case," Dampier said in a news release.
On Saturday, May 23, the positive case visited Backwater Jacks between 1 and 5 p.m. Then, they went to Shady Gators and Lazy Gators Pool from 5:40 to 9 p.m.
From Shady Gators, the case went back to Backwater Jacks from 9:40 to 10 p.m.
On Sunday, May 24, the case had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in Lake Ozark from 1 to 2 p.m., went to Shady Gators from 2:30 until around 7 p.m., then got a cab from Shady Gators to a private home.
Is Williams a trustworthy source of of info? The large crowds of people at the Lake of the Ozarks over Memorial Day weekend have not led to any more reported cases of COVID-19, Missouri’s top health official health department said Wednesday.
“The answer, to our knowledge, is no,” Dr. Randall Williams, director of the Department of Health and Senior Services, said when asked whether more cases have come from the gatherings, photos of which showed throngs of people close together without wearing masks.

Re: Coronavirus
The week of May 23rd appears to be the first week since March where the CDC isn't reporting deaths in excess of the 95th% threshold.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covi ... deaths.htm
Which may be due to the fact that few states had reopened weeks prior and the lockdowns/quarantines had worked effectively. Now that states are easing restrictions, it will be interesting to watch those weekly trends and see if they remain under the threshold or climb back above it. I'd think they will climb back up, though the daily deaths in the USA continues to decline ever so slowly.
