Watched him in the big leagues. If you’re gonna be a DH type you have to absolutely mash. You can’t be a 15-20 home run guy. No one is trading for that. Dime a dozen.
Then apparently you didn’t read the thread

I said trade him before we ever brought him up last year

We’re talking about mistakes the FO has made

His numbers were very good in the minors. We could have gotten some type of arm in the minors for that

His value is low now
Dude. No team thought Alec Burleson was worth trading for because of his minor league production. Other teams know him. They’ve seen his body type and his tools. He’s a fringe major league bench guy. Do we really need to debate this?

Dude.

No one said anyone’s top or even good arm.

He would absolutely have brought back a minor league arm based on his numbers in the minors had we never brought him up.

He serves no purpose on this team, so you get anything you can while the value is at its peak, which is while he was putting up great numbers in the minors

But no, no need to debate

I was thinking about this. Will they really allow Mozeliak to make his 4th manager hire in 6 years?

At some point he’s the problem.

I’ve also been reading fan comments elsewhere on the internet. Cardinals fandom is totally anti-this FO now.

Being a bit older than most here, I have memories of several Cardinal organizational collapses.

I would like to see the current management group make some sound decisions regarding changing course.

I also fear they might not be capable of that.
Goold says in his chats that DeWitt is happy with Mo because other areas in the organization are doing well under his guidance. My dream is he lets Mo manage the things he's supposedly good at and hire a GM who spends his time being good at baseball. Not the seemly non-existing Girsh, but someone from the outside with some fresh ways of thinking.

Hopefully attendance will drop as the temps get hotter and build a fire under DeWitt to do something.

I remember a few years ago on his podcast, Bernie was very, very polite about DeWitt - never calling him anything but "Mr. DeWitt" and refusing to brook the least criticism of him. How times have changed.

My brain won't allow me to watch interviews with sports executives, though, as they're the least useful, least truthful things imaginable. Did he say anything other than the same handful of platitudes?

Maybe someone finished that rambling mess Bernie wrote. I couldn’t.

Team is bad.
Because of this.
Do things.
(Now reread 1000 times, and shake each time before reading)

am I doing it right?

This seems significant.

St. Louis Cardinals All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado knows that despite his superstar status, he could be on the chopping block just like anyone else as the trade deadline approaches.

"It is a business, right?" Arenado said.

"I've been traded once. I think that shocked a lot of people at that time," he added. "I guess it doesn't surprise me anymore what happens in this game."
"It would still be surprising seeing certain things happen," Arenado said. "But I understand that there's certain things that probably should."
