I’m not sure where Walker’s future is defensively. It’s ugly right now. If he’s a minus defensive player, he gets a lot less valuable.

Back off the ledge guys. It’s a good roster with an obvious flaw (SP) that has been ravaged by injuries and the worst sequencing and timing luck imaginable.
Sell off the impending FA and continue to build around the solid core.
Not to be a Mo simp, but he’s got to have a sense of relief that the nostalgia guys are almost gone and off the books.
This team simple needs arms and health.

I wish we could trade for the Rays front office and development team.

I want to continue watching Nolan Arenado as a St Louis Cardinal. I feel like conversations such as this ignore the entertainment aspect of baseball. None of us are GMs.Tulsacard wrote: ↑July 29 23, 1:28 pmNolan Arenado is the best 3rd baseman of his generation. He’s a future hall of fame player. He’s a team-first, classy person. He not only puts up very good numbers, he draws fans in with his amazing defensive plays! Arenado is who you do NOT trade.
Mozeliak is either planning to trade Arenado or he’s the most tone deaf person in St. Louis. Either way he’s done a very poor job with his handling of the Arenado situation these past few days.

Mets about to get Walcott and porter for scherzer while the cards asking price for their [expletive] arms remains too high. Just like we all suspected, the cardinals will absolutely [expletive] this all
Up. Is there a more inept front office than these [expletive] clowns.

One benefit to signing Scherzer is you can potentially trade Scherzer for something good.

Somewhat hard to have such a hard line stance on something we have no information about yet. Maybe the above statement is true come Tuesday’s deadline. Or maybe the above statement is a crazy knee jerk reaction. I’ll save my assessment of the trade deadline until I find out what I am assessing.go birds wrote: ↑July 29 23, 3:41 pmMets about to get Walcott and porter for scherzer while the cards asking price for their [expletive] arms remains too high. We have years of data on mo to see exactly how this will all pan out.Slider wrote: ↑July 29 23, 3:47 pmSomewhat hard to have such a hard line stance on something we have no information about yet. I don't see the connection between what the Mets are doing and what the Cards may or may not do. The Cardinals don't have a pitcher to trade that's remotely as valuable as Scherzer.

I want the Cardinals to make smart trades not fast trades. If they don't pull anything off until 5:59 PM on Tuesday, then so be it.
Now if the trade deadline comes and goes and Flaherty, Hicks, Monty are still on the team and we get the "we couldn't find a deal that matches" then I'll raise hell. But until then, it's wait and see on my end.
