I’m going to keep climbing the ladder until we figure out how much will be tolerated.Arthur Dent wrote: ↑July 31 24, 10:31 amI don't understand why we tolerate so much fraud and attempted fraud. Trying to be cautious to protect yourself great and all, but if you try to steal a car like this, shouldn't you get prosecuted?
I haven’t reviewed our finances in…years? Kind of put it on auto pilot a while ago when we got to a certain point.
Brushed out the old budget and wanted to see how we were doing in comparison. While reviewing, cumulatively, about 1700 charges stretching back years, I noticed we were being double billed for insurance. Then noticed the amounts didn’t match despite being close. Then noticed the auto draft insurance charges doubled some months.
Called the insurance company. After about 5 minutes, the customer rep, who was awesome, goes…okay, just talked to the manager. All I can say is we see them. We can’t stop someone else’s payment. But you need to dispute the charges and file a police report (against the name of the person in the memo on the charge).
Looked that person up and yeah she’s facing like a three other fraud felonies already around here.
Now I’m just curious how she set up an ach auto draft from our account and got almost $6k over a year or so.
