According mlb.com (for what it's worth), 4 of the prospects acquired this week are already slotted into the Cardinals top 10.

Roby at #4
Robberse at #6
Saggese at #8
Prieto at #9
At what point do we expect the 2023 trade deadline acquisitions to be important pieces to the current team? It's been a year and a half already.

You are looking at it right now. Saggese likely being a bench bat/utility guy this season with the chance to show he belongs and force his way into playing more. The two pitchers Roby & Robberse have been fighting injuries just like nearly every other young pitcher, and are likely swing/depth starters if they make it to the majors. So a bench bat that could be an average starter and two swing arms for a couple months of Flaherty and Montgomery. The Cards weren't trading Juan Soto with a year or 2 left on his contract, they were trading 3-5 starters with a couple months left. Hopefully these guys help the Cards out for 5-8 seasons in total.

I get the "let the young guys play" approach in general, but good God. Not a single MLB FA? CF will be the same [expletive] show it was last year with zero insurance? Kyle Leahy is our best RHP in the bullpen besides Helsley? Yikes.

Sadly, the Cardinals will be low on my list of things I’ll be hate watching this year.
