NASHVILLE HERE WE COME!

Maybe the DeWitts can move the franchise to Nashville and take Sonny with them.

Just do like the Cleveland Browns did. Leave the Cardinals' name and history but take the rest of this mess to Nashville, Memphis, Portland, or Charlotte. Even Montreal. I don't care anymore.

Get an expansion team for St. Louis. An expansion team, with an owner who actually cares about winning, couldn't be any worse than this mess.

Anyone who thinks this isn't going to be a cellar-dwelling-bottom-feeder until the DeWitts are gone isn't paying attention.

My kids and grandkids will never see a WS in St. Louis. Or even care that they won't...which is even worse.

I love the Cardinals. Please don't ask me what I think about the DeWitts.

He’s seen enough. And given that statement, it doesn’t sound like they have much intention of trying to win next year either.

Geez, the Dewitt’s are terrible.
The reason I think they're amongst the worst is they actually could win if they wanted to, but for some weird reason they prioritize profit instead. When they're already billionaires...

Looking at a sub $100 million payroll with people in the media like Miklasz excusing it.

They're gonna have to eat most of Arenado and Gray's $70 mil. (Arenado is even signed for 2027, but at "only" 15mil).

We're talking about a soon to be 36 year old pitcher who just posted a 96 ERA+ and is owed $35 million next year. His trade value, unless we eat half or more of that money, is minimal. Maybe it's worth it to the Dewitts to save like $10 million to give him away. Who am I kidding, it'll definitely be worth it to them.
He's talked about in trade talk speculation, the two teams I've heard about are the Giants and the Braves. He might be comfortable playing for Bob Melvin or being close to home, but neither of those teams were good this year. He needs to be on a win now team if he wants to have a chance at a ring.
Well, the Giants just eliminated something that would have made them attractive to Sonny—they fired Bob Melvin. https://abc7news.com/post/giants-fire- ... /17904424/

Sports Illustrated already has Sonny out the door. I have links to the teams that Sidney Ponson and Érik Bédard played for during the end of their careers as journeymen vagabonds, so if Sonny ends up with one of those teams I will already have message boards to follow. But, if he’s going to leave the Cardinals, I hope he ends up with a good team and wins a ring. One ring. Then I hope he helps bring a team to Nashville and ends up managing it. But I still want the Cardinals to win the World Series even if it means beating Nashville every year.

MLB Trade Rumors analysis of the trade market for Sonny Gray. Some of the comments suggest the Cardinals won’t be able to trade Sonny, although I probably want that to be true because he’s my favorite player.

I think he’s a solid candidate to bounce back

It doesn't make sense to me to trade Sonny when you are saying you need to add starting pitching; unless they think they are going to get someone to take on the whole contract and then go bargain bin hunting for innings eaters.
