if the return is light, you’re literally better off keeping a player like Donovan. He actually does play the game the right way. Super high IQ.
I’d rather keep him around with the young guys for the next two seasons than ship him off for crap.

Williamson is the only one checking his phone.

What I've learned from this offseason is there is a percentage of very online Cardinals fans who do not give a [expletive] if the team has players worth watching this season.

Ownership, and by extension Bloom, are viewing the short term as not being a time to contend and not making any substantial investment in the roster (not saying this is the right approach, just that appears to be how they are operating). If that's the case, why hold onto a player who they probably won't extend and not get any return for someone who is under team control for a longer period of time?

If you hope to contend this year, I get the sentiment.
Cjinte is involved per the twitter and Joel Sherman.

You brought it up. Several times, with no encouragement from me.phins wrote: ↑February 2 26, 4:31 pmSo your response is to be pedantic and abrasive?Famous Mortimer wrote: ↑February 2 26, 4:28 pmI can't be bothered to gloat. Or feel chastened. Fans always overvalue their own team's guys, and it's boring to read about because it never materializes. That's all.
And all you've done is try to gloat or call out. To the point I don't even want to engage with you.
Interesting strategy. It's your choice to do and that's fine, to be clear.

Is there that much difference between a top 50 and 100 prospect?
Donovan is about to be 29 and under control for 2 more years. Realistically, based on aging curves, that will likely be the end or close to his prime, so not sure what the fuss is between that return.

I haven't thought they could contend for years. But I don't want to watch Gorman bat anymore either. Can we have a happy medium?

At that point, why not shoot for zero wins and picking in the top three?Lesson wrote: ↑February 2 26, 4:35 pmOwnership, and by extension Bloom, are viewing the short term as not being a time to contend and not making any substantial investment in the roster (not saying this is the right approach, just that appears to be how they are operating). And to address the end of your passage, it’s because Donovan is fun to watch.
Winn, and who? Currently.

So a Cardinal who is an everyday player is going to Seattle. I can’t afford season tickets and I don’t think I would want to attend all the home games just for Donovan, but I might have to attend the home opener (if I can get a ticket for a reasonable price) just to welcome Donnie to Seattle.
