He was scratched for the game last night, so he must of been close to a decision. I could understand his desire to stay in St. Louis - Blues players have traditionally loved the city and many return even after retiring from other teams. There's probably a certain amount of pride that he could become the all-time leader in games played for the Blues in a couple years, and the most by a defenseman by the end of this season.

Yeah I’m great if he stays and declines to waive; but if he does go, that’s a fantastic trade

Not like Krug…who I wasn’t mad at; not his fault/not his problem we gave him a NTC…but the fact we could have gotten rid of a player I never liked or wanted for sanheim? That one still hurts lol

I think I remember reading that Parayko was already scheduled to not play because of back spasms. I read that he did initially stay at the hotel presumably to ponder, but was seen leaving the game.

I had the same thought about the almost Krug trade. (Wish it would have happened but I respect his decision). That said, if we have sanheim, maybe we don’t get broberg and Holloway. Maybe we still do but who knows.

very good point; and I'd rather have broberg and Krugs cap space to play with if needed lol

Reported that he did NOT waive his no-trade clause, electing to stay in StL and killing the deal.

I guess we'll see now if there's another location that he is willing to accept (and willing to offer a good package), or if he's staying put.

Good for him. I hope he retires a blue and that we get atleast one guy from the 19 squad* who wore the note his whole career. Plus all the reports I see indicate he’s a top notch person and does a lot for the community.

*id also love for Thomas and binner to be career blues. I’d get if it they were traded, but I’d enjoy the legacy if they stayed.

Yeah, Parayko & Binnington were so instrumental in getting that Cup, and they're basically the face of the Blues throughout the community. Would love to see them retire as Blues and get a statue. Not sure why I don't feel quite as strong about Thomas. Maybe because other than his play on the big Maroon goal, his role was more minimal during that Cup run. But I do like the guy.

parayko lives year round in St Louis and is dating someone in the Imo's family

reported he's ok to be traded, just not to BUF (and to stay is his preference over anything)

so guess to everyone that says that players don't want to come to STL, it could always be worse lol

Are you telling me there's a possibility we could have a new cheese mix called "Parayko Provel"?
