Clarke will be slowed at the start of spring training after recently undergoing surgery to address poor circulation in his fingers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Clarke has dealt with nagging blister issues and numbness in his fingers since entering pro ball, and it was determined they were caused by an aneurysm in his left arm that led to circulation problems. The hope is that the procedure will alleviate his issues and also potentially help him harness his command. The southpaw is currently going through range-of-motion exercises and working on regaining arm strength. Clarke will be eased into a throwing program in spring training and it's unclear when he'll be ready to make his season debut.
This is a new one for me. No idea how that will go, but let's hope it's really the cause and fixes it.
now reporting out till June due to the surgery

At least Clarke looks great on the prospects lists.

Don't know this one so I can't add anything outside of what you read online.

Of the 4 players involved in the Sonny Gray trade, each of them have a monosyllabic last name, none of which exceed 6 letters.

I am confident this has never been achieved before in a MLB transaction of this size (4 players or more). Prove me wrong.

I looked into him and he appears to be an arm strength bet with a nice fastball. Pitched at Ole Miss, but not well so he had very few innings. Signed as a late round pick and has trouble throwing strikes.

Relief only prospect, but 100 mph is 100 mph, so I guess we shall see.

It appears the Red Sox had the Galle to trade for Sonny Gray.
