I am unfamiliar with her, but what caught my attention was this factoid: "singing in 14 languages"

Who does that?

Radical and riveting: Is Rosalía's Lux the year's best album?

Over her brief discography, Rosalía has never met a convention she couldn't break.

Born in Barcelona, the singer has spent the last seven years innovating at a speed that makes her contemporaries look comically lazy. Her breakthrough album El Mal Querer (recorded as her graduate thesis in 2018) took the folkloric traditions of Flamenco and fused them to addictive R&B rhythms.

The follow-up, 2022's Motomami, was a wildly innovative pop smash, twisting Latin American genres like cumbia and reggaeton around glitchy hip-hop beats and her playful, sinuous melodies. With lyrics about fame, sex and self-discovery, Motomami debuted at the top of Spotify's global albums chart, took home album of the year at the Latin Grammys, and became 2022's best-reviewed record on Metacritic - even topping Beyoncé's celebrated Renaissance.

After Rosalía's tour for her critically acclaimed album ended three year ago, her fans were left wondering where she'd go next. The answer is revealed on her fourth album, Lux, released on Friday (11/7).

Another too-soon passing of a musician:
Beloved rocker dead at 63: ‘One of the best to ever pick up a bass guitar’

The rock world is mourning the loss of another talented musician as Gary “Mani” Mounfield has died. He was 63.

Mani Mounfield was best known for his time as the bassist for Stone Roses and Primal Scream.

Mounfield was a native of Manchester, England. He began his career in 1987 with the Stone Roses, and when that band disbanded in 1996 he joined Primal Scream. But when the Stone Roses reunited in 2011, Mounfield returned to the group until it broke up again in 2017.

If you hadn't already figured it out, the secret's out now:
Rock singer reveals 22-year relationship with bandmate

A famous rock singer revealed she’s been in a relationship with her bandmate for more than two decades.

Halestorm members Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger performed at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday. Before performing “The Silence,” Hale told the audience why they never talked about dating publicly. “For those of you who have just met us, I know there’s a lot of different dynamics and things, but Joe and I are together, and we have been for 22 years,” Hale said. “Like Joe was saying earlier in the night, when we met, we had never met anyone like each other.“

Hale co-founded Halestorm with her brother, drummer Aejay Hale, in 1997. Hottinger joined on guitar and backing vocals in 2003, and things quickly turned romantic with Lzzy Hale.

I recently re-watched the old sci-fi TV show Fringe. The last 3.5 minutes of season 5, episode 1 is basically a music video for a somewhat obscure early 80s synth pop song. The video is extremely good, especially if you like the show.

If anyone is a fan of The Wildhearts... well, I've got some bad news for you:
Rock star says he won’t treat cancer, has 2-to-3 years left: ‘Will die with dignity’

Ginger Wildheart took to social media Tuesday with an update a day after his band, The Wildhearts, announced that he has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

“Thank you for all your messages of support,” he wrote on X. “I won’t go through treatment. I’ve lived the life of ten men and will die with dignity. Still got 2-3 years to say goodbye to everyone. And I’ll be rocking until the very last moment.

“No misery please. Positivity all the way.”

How do you feel about the Cardinals' outfield situation? Can Church handle CF? What do you do about left field then - move Burleson there, and try Ivan Herrera at first? Is Baez ready for the callup?
