If we included suter (or traded him) we could easily take back kot’s salary. I really like neighbors but I’d offer him, a 1st and short term salary (suter) back. I have no clue what causes kot’s sudden decline. Did he get injured or something? He’s only 26. Bounce back candidate? I honestly know nothing about him.

Heck, 4th liners make $4m now anyways. /shrug

I think a middle 6 of buch, mcm, mct, dvo, breg, linden and kot could work just fine.

Edit: after reading a little about kot, I’d still take him back but wouldn’t want to include a first. I’d offer any non Holloway lw in our system, and any non broberg or lindstein ld in the system if they want a cheap replacement for their bottom pair, since we are swimming in bottom 6 lw and 3rd pairing ld.

Apparently Larkin has reiterated his only approved destinations are Vegas, Min, and Fla.

Seems odd to even request a trade if it’s only going to be to 3 teams it just cannot happen to?

DET is only wanting NHL players (as they should), and all 3 are in win now modes so doesn’t make sense to deplete from that.

Not to mention they don’t have cap space to do anything anyways.

We resigned Sunny. That gives us 16 forwards. (Assuming McM signs)

Its a two-way deal but what are we doing?

I love sunny, but we have no need or room for him at this point in his career??

wow so Yzerman just announced he's stepping down effective immediately? Wonder if this is to do with the Larkin situation?

I heard the afternoon guys on 101 last week talking about Steen wanting to emphasize competition for spots. Last year, going into camp, apparently the players all felt too comfortable after their incredible run to get into the playoffs. They didn't compete hard enough, and that carried over well into the season.

So I think Steen is doing this on purpose. I'd say no one's spot on any particular line is guaranteed other than Thomas, Holloway, Snuggerud, Neighbours and Broberg. And the bottom 6 type forwards could find themselves on the street come early October. Guys like Sunny, Walker, Torpo, Finley could easily be traded/cut.

I mean, I guess there are worse things than having Sunny be your 14th forward with a 2 way contract, allowing a prospect to get 18 minutes/night in the AHL vs 8 minutes in the NHL.

Blues finally sign McMichael. 6 years, $6.75m per. Seems about right for a middle 6 wing with 2nd line upside in the new cap era. (Honestly feels like too much to me but I’m always a million or two behind the cap) I hope he and McT are good fits because they are signed for a long time.

The Blues have really solid top9 depth: Thomas, Holloway, Snuggs, Buchy, McM, McT, Neighbors, Suter, Dvo. Plus Breggren. (Mostly because he’s a RW)
*I’m assuming Stenberg starts in the AHL.

This is the blueprint for the Thomas’ contract window. Depth-them-to-death. I hope it works. (Duh)

Can anyone other than Snuggs play RW? Dvo? Buchy?

EDIT: Yeesh, does this mean Neighbors is gonna get a similar deal next year? About what about Snuggs? Yikes. Will be interesting to see where everything fits.

STL Today says they're negotiating with cable companies still. For out of market fans, they'll still be available on ESPN+.

And there will be direct to fan streaming options similar to Cards games now, too.
