I’m not sure why people rarely mention that expanded playoffs have made the playoffs far less compelling.

And they’re making the LDS round best of 7 from what I’ve heard.

I grew up with one round, the World Series. I know we’re never going back but I will confess to some burnout by the time the WS starts. I would be in favor of some shrinkage. Maybe the 3 division champs and one WC team so at least the WC round would go away.

And yes, I know this is never going to happen
