I would like you all to say a little prayer, or send warm thoughts tonight. My nephew is taking his date to homecoming in my Viper. I obviously trust him but you know kids can be dumb.
How did it go?
I’m curious as well. Giving a teenager access to a Viper, on prom night, takes great courage.
It went fine. He did say he stalled it a couple times which embarrassed him. lol The clutch on that car is heavy AF so I'm not surprised. He's a great kid, straight A student, helps out on the farm, and I figured if I can trust him with a half million dollar tractor I can probably trust him with a car I paid 50k for. I don't know that there are too many people in general I'd let take the car for the night but he really is an exceptional kid who is pretty OCD with his own vehicle and tool storage so it's safe to say he's not the type of kid to tear things up. He even left it with a full tank of gas.
He's got his head on his shoulders - "left it with a full tank of gas."

Had an interesting day today. Met some guys for lunch in town and there were some police sitting next to us. My friends and I were talking cars because that's what we do. One of the cops leans over and says "any of you used to have a all black Corvette that was very modified and had a small sticker that said "midnite 72" on it.

Well I definitely did, but of course I denied it because never trust a cop. One of my buddies goes "what's so special with this Vette?" The cops all proceeded to tell us they called it the ghost because if you saw it, it was too fast to catch and would disappear before they could get caught up to it. They said it was kind of an on going thing as to who was finally going to catch it and they had a pool of money going for who ever did.

Well they never did. lol It's kind of cool to have a "legendary" local car even if there are only like 10 people that actually know about it.

Anyway, Saturday we are headed to look at a used GTR. Who knows, maybe a new legend will be born.

You only live once. Excuse the excessive background blurring, it is to protect my wife's privacy because she does still have stalkers 10 years after her career ended.

It's an 09, has 88k miles on the clock. Immaculate service records and just got a new transmission 3000 miles ago. That's a pretty typical thing for a GTR approaching 100k on the odo. First impressions are it is fast as [expletive]. I can not believe how hard it pulls off the line. Keep in mind in my 20s I had a pro NHRA drag license for my 9 second Camaro and this thing I am pretty sure would murder that car to the 60ft mark. I bet 60ft time is sub 1.3ish just from the feels.

I was worried it would feel a little too digital but after driving some newer cars recently it actually feels a bit old school from a ride and feedback standpoint. Which is awesome. I've got to get to all the settings and buttons figured out but holy [expletive] am I in love. the only disappointment is the turbos aren't too loud stock, so first mod might have to be something to wake those up.

Very nice! I’ve taken a few rides in a GTR and they are rockets. And yeah, good thing the transmission is done.

What’s fun about them is you can modify the ever loving crap out of them and get insane HP #’s if that’s your thing, but are still fast as hell bone stock.

A 2009 with 88K probably didn’t set you back anything too terrible, that’s another nice thing about them. They are super cars that can be bought relatively cheaply if they’ve been driven.

Yeah considering the performance they are very reasonably priced. We paid less than a lot of new pick up trucks for it. lol
