Memphis won 11-7 against Iowa. Mike Smith had a rough start and gave up 5 runs over 6 and 1/3 innings. Matt Ginter has apparently been moved to the bullpen. Brendan Ryan, Edgar Gonzalez, and Nick Stavinoha each had 3 hits. I really hope Stavinoha goes on a nice roll. John Nelson is off the DL and playing third base. That means someone else had to be removed from the roster, but I’m not sure who right now. Box Log

Springfield lost 10-5 to Tulsa. Jaime Garcia had a good start – he gave up 2 earned runs over 5 innings with 8 Ks. Tyler Greene and Sean Danielson each had 2 hits. Box Log

Palm Beach won 8-4 against Vero Beach . Adam Ottavino gave up 2 earned runs over 4 and 1/3 innings. Allen Craig was 3 for 4 with a homer. His performance so far has been almost as surprising as Joe Mather’s. Box Log

Quad Cities won 10-9 against Burlington. Of course the day after I compliment Burlington’s pitching they give up 10 runs – all earned. Blake King had a nice outing and 1 earned run over 3 innings with 4 Ks. That was good to see after 3 rough outings. Costarter Brandon Dickson gave up 1 run over 4 innings and Kenny Maiques pitched a scoreless ninth. Jim Rapoport, Christian Lopez, and Daryl Jones each had 3 hits. Box Log
