What's your beef with nuclear power?GatewaySnayke wrote:My problem with McCain admitting that global warming is man made and something needs to be done about it is that his solutions are teh suck. His call for a bevy of nuclear power plants is a scary one.

Yeah, France is like 75% nuclear and selling the power to other people, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think you want to get overly dependent on it, but we could use a lot more than we have now.
I haven't heard McCain push it except for a mention at the RNC. I'd like it if they both got on the bandwagon.

I'm not really against using nuclear power, but I'd be curious to know what it would mean for the price of uranium and if it's OK to use as much water needed.

I am for nuclear power, but I am not for necessarily letting the contractor with the lowest bid build them.

I'm not sure what your "water" comment means.GatewaySnayke wrote:I'm not really against using nuclear power, but I'd be curious to know what it would mean for the price of uranium and if it's OK to use as much water needed.
And I would assume that the price of uranium is (and would continue to be) astronomical.

Because it takes massive amounts of water to use nuclear power.Socnorb11 wrote:Why would there be a shortage of water?haltz wrote:fission > heat > water > steam turbinesSocnorb11 wrote:I'm not sure what your "water" comment means.
