She's not telling the truth when she told ABC neither she nor her husband pressured me to fire Trooper Wooten," said Walt Monegan, the Alaskan official whose dismissal by Sarah Palin is the focus of a state investigation known as "Troopergate". "And she's not telling the truth to the media about her reasons for firing me."

....

"This is not a 'he said she said' situation. Others were contacted by Todd and Sarah as well," according to Monegan, who said he was confident the investigation would find adequate documentation to corroborate his testimony.

Let me be the first to say it. Meh.
Basically, I don't give a [expletive]. I just post things that I know are going to end up media stories and would matter to a lot of people.

I think blatant corruption is relevant. Maybe others don't.
Oh, I've enjoyed reading and looking at a lot of the posted links. Some of it is a service to us, thanks. But I am worn out looking for the "smoking gun". GWB has run about a corrupt govt as there's been. And he's still in the White House. So what makes you think that this will have any effect on Palin's popularity amongst the right?

Its not like I believe she's a above the law. But just can't follow the play-by-play on Palin. In fact, I think the hyper attention actually helps her appeal to some, making her into a martyr.

Personally, I think its the issues that matter. I keep hearing this from Obama's people. So why not let that be the case and quit looking for the silver bullet somewhere in the Alaska brush that brings down Palin.

That SNL episode was the highest rated premiere since the first one after 9/11. If Tina Fey really skewers Palin as stuff continues to come out it could really have an influence on the election.

Palin said she enjoyed the parody and found it funny because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween. Not sure how you do this. I guess dress normal and wear hipster glasses and a scar on your face.

I think once the debates start, we'll have more focus on issues (I hope so, anyway). Right now, nobody will report the issues, so it's pretty hard to push the issues. I'd be happy to post some terrific YouTube videos that show Biden & Obama talking taxes and such, but I doubt if anybody would care.

But yeah, since Palin is fairly new on the scene, I think it's important to check her credibility. Lord knows the other candidates have been put through the ringer. Reverend Wright probably lost Obama some votes. Reports of plagiarism probably made a few folks look at Biden a little funny. If there's corruption, and Palin isn't willing to be open about it, I think that's relevant.

I apologize, because I do appreciate a lot of your posts, especially the spoofs and comedians. Meh may have been too harsh.

I guess I'm an ole timer that grew up with only 2 TV channels. 3 if we really extended the rabbit ears and had someone hold onto them. So when something came on that was breaking news, that is what it was. I'm not accustomed to this era where everything is breaking news.

McCain may have lost some of my respect for picking a candidate that is blatant pandering to the extremists, and a gimmick ploy for female votes - but he's won some of my admiration for making such a wickedly calculated choice. He's looking like a genious. The more Palin gets skewered (whether rightly or wrongly) the more popular she gets.

I still have hope that the truth prevails. Sometimes you just have to let it.

I really seriously hope I don't live in a country where people will vote, and be influenced by what they have seen in an SNL skit.

ALBANY - Barack Obama's once-commanding lead in New York has shrunk to just 5 points, a poll released Monday shows.

The Siena College poll shows Obama leading McCain 46% to 41%.

The five point margin is down from 18 points in June in a state considered among the most heavily Democrat in the nation.

I think Palin is lying about dressing as Tina Fey for Halloween. If she really believes in the Petocostal Religion, and is such a stauch christian, and creationism, she would have to also share the beliefe that Halloween is evil and celebrating the devil. I know all my in-laws are very against Halloween, and my wife and I argue about it every year.

Are you saying that because of her denomination or just Christianity in general.

For all of you offshore drillers...here you go.

Please note the amount of oil added and the timeline when it goes online. This is a money grab disguised as pump relief. It will cause more damage to the environment and will provide no benefit of getting off foreign oil. If we want to get off foreign oil and become "energy indepedent", we need something else besides offshore drilling. (fuel cells, wind, solar, nuclear, geothermal...)

Take the money used to drill offshore and invest in the future...your kids will thank you.

Specifically her denomination, but I know of a lot of other "christians" who are against Halloween also.
