Being someone who understands the basic statistics behind polling, and combining that with being a cantankerous old coot, when I am polled on anything I give the exact opposite answers of what I really mean. If I get polled, I'm a McCain guy all the way.

I just wonder how many people like me it takes to totally make these polls irrelvant.

If Obama wins Ohio, he can't lose the election. Unless McCain somehow wins Michigan, Virginia AND Colorado.

I'm like that, too, Jim. I've never been polled but if I were, I'd give any answer but what I planned to vote for.....that's why I don't put much stock into these polls, especially the daily ones.

The only time I get called, they ask if I'm a democrat. When I emphatically say no, they hang up.

Is this polling?

Mainly just to be a dick. We have a room at work with this gynormous chalkboard that the theorists use. Crazy math stuff all over, and for some reason when I go to that room if I get the opportunity I'll erase an exponent here or a sign there.

Really no reason behind it, kind of like making a Red Sox logo as your sig and making sure everyone knows about it by posting a thread asking if I should keep it.

i lie about everything when i am polled too. even on those websites that ask you to put your demographic info. or ask where you learned about the product. i have no idea why i lie 100% of the time when anonymous.

I hate it when someone a decade younger than me refers to himself as a "cantankerous old coot".

To tell whether this messes up polls, we'd have to find whether Obama or McCain supporters are more likely to be dicks then.
