This is a bit off topic, but if you all could choose one person, past president or not, that is alive right now to be president, who would it be? It doesn't have to be Obama or mccain. It can be anyone from your next door neighbor to Bill Clinton. Doesn't matter. Who would it be? Give a reason if you care to. I don't have an answer right now, but I'd say Forbes might be a good guy just because of his knowledge of the economy. Though, I'm sure he has a ton of things he's not solid on......

I never said you were an idiot. You said "show more respect to those clinging to guns and religions" as if the people doing it are not worthy of respect. I simply pointed out both those freedoms are expressly pointed out in the Bill of Rights, the foundation for this Country.

The only way to get rid of gun violence is to put harsher penalties on gun related crimes.

From my sick and twisted mind:
Killing with a gun - Death penalty
Killing with a sword - 20 years
Killing with a knife - 15 years
Killing with bare hands - 10 years

At least without a gun, you have a better chance at defending yourself.
Plus, I want to see the ninja population come back and get them off the endangered species list.

In a time when we have many pressing issues facing our country and the world, some well-
meaning people have a tendency to ignore those problems, and instead put the focus on the 2nd amendment rights (which are alive and well last time I checked), and freedom for their personal religious beliefs...to be carried out as our country's policy.

I think we should forget about more gun control. What we need is bullet control. That's right. There are at least 100... 200 million guns in this country. I own three of them. We cannot control the supply of guns in this country but we can control the supply of ammunition. Buying bullets should not be easier than buying a plane ticket. We should license the purchase of handgun ammunition. There should be a clear, ID record of every handgun ammo purchase. We're in the 21st Century. Homicide detectives should be able to trace every fired bullet back to the buyer in minutes.

Gotcha and agreed. I still don't think that people that enjoy the liberties of the first two amendments are crazies, but I totally understand how it upsets you that people vote based solely on what the NRA says or what candidates stnaces on abortion are.

Marist is NOT a very good Pollster. It's toward the bottom of the 538 rankings. If you add two to McCain's side in every result, you'll probably get a better result. In Michigan, it's probably something like 50/45. In Ohio, I'd say it's tied and in Pennsylvania, I'd say closer to 49/46. The Rasmussen Indiana poll looks pretty solid.
