I'll just say it now. The race is over.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. Palin/McCain: The Thread
There's two sets of polls there from Quinnipac, as you've noticed.
One poll is pre-debate. One poll is post-debate.
FLORIDA: Obama 51 – McCain 43 post-debate (O +8)
OHIO: Obama 50 – McCain 42 post-debate (O +8)
PENNSYLVANIA: Obama 54 – McCain 39 post-debate (O +15)
I'm sorry, this is over now.

I'm sure there will be a push to make something out of the Rezko case before the month is out.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. Palin/McCain: The Thread
If these numbers are legit, with only a month and three days left, there would have to be an absolute bombshell. I mean HUGE. I don't know that anything could reverse all of these states and that's what McCain needs to win. He needed either Colorado, Pennsylvania or Michigan to win and there was no other feasible combination. Michigan is gone. Pennsylvania is gone. And even if he wins Colorado, if Obama takes Ohio, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina or Nevada, he still wins.Jocephus wrote:still a lot of time...PujolJunkie wrote:I'll just say it now. Don't jinx him, PJ.
There's still two debates and the October surprise where they finally reveal bin Laden.

Daily Trackers and a lot of them:
ABCNews/WaPo - Obama 50, McCain 46 (O +4)
Pew Research - Obama 49, McCain 43 (O +6)
Time - Obama 50, McCain 43(O +7)
Gallup - Obama 48, McCain 44(O +4)
Rasmussen - Obama 51, McCain 45(O +6)
Hotline/Diageo - Obama 47, McCain 42 (O +5)
GW/Battleground - Obama 48, McCain 46 (O +2)
About the Time poll:

Time - Obama 50, McCain 43(O +7)

GW/Battleground - Obama 48, McCain 46 (O +2)
About the Time poll:
For McCain, the most troubling sign may come not from the details of the poll, which are grim for Republicans, but from the historical context. No Democrat has crossed the 50% threshold in the general election since before Ronald Reagan was elected, let alone done so a month before the election.

Does anyone really believe that either one of these guys is going to make the country THAT much better?
