They're desperate and this is their attempt at a hail mary since nothing else has been able to stick and she didn't do anything in the debate to sway anything. This is also trying to take away focus from the economy.

We'll see what happens on Tuesday, then.

This could be interesting because one thing that turned off people about Palin in the debate was her attacks. I don't know if it's because that's basically all we've seen of her, beginning with her convention speech, or if people think it's unbecoming of her, but it doesn't always go over well. If she's going to become the attack dog, they may lose what she was to bring to the ticket. (Except the hard-core base).

I don't know the full details of this story yet, but what I've heard so far seems a flimsy correlation. (Haven't had time to read the links here) I would think if Obama wants to sling back he's got the Keating 5 and the campaign's unwillingness to cooperate with troopergate - a bipartisan investigation until she became tha runningmate.

Obama has said he will respond to attacks quickly to prevent being "swiftboated". Wonder if/how this will be addressed. (By the Obama campaign or just by surrogates) It really does need a response, though, they can't rely on the American people to "see through" this like attacks in previous campaigns.

In my biased opinion, it is a last ditch effort to try and take away focus from the economy and dropping polls.

Like I said, Ayers has done more positives things from this country than Palin, of course he has done alot more negative, violent, hateful things than Palin as well.

I'm rolling. I'm dying from laughter.

Why couldn't McPalin just say "vote for Obama: you like his ideas more anyway." The best part about all this is watching Republicans spin themselves around trying to figure out why this is all happening. It's almost as if people don't fall in lockstep with their crazy idealogy. Hannity was on 105.7 the other day and honestly said he couldn't figure out why people were mad at McCain for "suspending" his campaign and going back to Washington.

It's a wonder how these people can tie their shoes.

From 1998:
Mother Jones: You not only have had combat experience in Vietnam, but you were also a prisoner of war. When you look at terrorism right now, with people like Osama bin Laden, do you have any reservations about watching strikes like that?

John McCain: You could say, Look, is this guy, Laden, really the bad guy that's depicted? Most of us have never heard of him before. And where there is a parallel with Vietnam is: What's plan B? What do we do next? We sent our troops into Vietnam to protect the bases. Lyndon Johnson said, Only to protect the bases. Next thing you know.... Well, we've declared to the terrorists that we're going to strike them wherever they live. That's fine. But what's next? That's where there might be some comparison.

I'd imagine if the Obama campaign really wants to knuckle up, here's a nice shiny golden opportunity.

Tina Fey returned once again to "Saturday Night Live" as Sarah Palin as the late-night comedy show continued its political momentum by offering a parody of last week's vice presidential debate.
Fey kicked off the debate as Palin by saying how nice it was to finally get to meet her running mate Joe Biden, played by "SNL" cast member Jason Sudeikis.
"May I say, up close, your hair plugs don't look nearly as bad as everyone says," Fey's Palin told Biden.
During the sketch, Fey focused on a theme that she and Republican presidential hopeful John McCain were both "a couple of mavericks."
When asked by debate moderator Gwen Ifill, played by Queen Latifah, how being a maverick would help solve the financial crisis, Fey responded with her characteristically cheerful Palin impression.
"You know we're gonna take every aspect of the crisis and look at it, and then we're gonna ask ourselves, what would a maverick do with the situation."
Fey also quipped that, "While Senator Biden has been in Washington all these years, I've been with regular people -- hockey moms and Joe six packs. And I'd also like to give a shout out to the third graders of Gladys Woods Elementary, who were so helpful to me in my debate prep."
In the skit, Jason Sudeikis, as Joe Biden, also denied being a political insider. "Don't be telling me that I'm part of the Washington elite because I come from the absolute worst place on earth - Scranton, Pennsylvania."
The debate parody drew huge laughs at the end when the moderator asked Fey's Palin to give a closing statement. "Are we not doing the talent portion?" Fey asks, and then begins playing a flute. Palin was runner-up in the 1984 Miss Alaska beauty pageant.
I meant to record SNL because I knew they'd do the debate, but got distracted by company. (And the Cubs choking) For me, the one (only) good thing about McCain winning would be these skits continuing.

EDIT: Here's a link to the skit. Watching Palin interviews and Fey skits, they're very hard to distinguish. Fey has done an awesome job.
