Oh she is a hoot. Honest, I don't think she's getting this stuff from me. Ok she knows I favor Obama but thats about it - we try to keep the poli-talk down to a minimum here. I quizzed her a bit on where she heard all this, and I tell her McCain is ok. but she stands firm with her assessment.
My six year old has stated a few funny ones, too. She's been reading a ton about the election.
The kids angle on things can be lighten-ing and enlightening. My little one is a daddy's girl now-and becomes my little attack dog whenever my teen gives me flack. Down girl.

So I could see her chompin McCain on my behalf some... but still I wonder what's original thought versus planted there. Knowing her, I would say its more of the former than the latter.

Now when my older daughter was in Catholic school, her opinions were pretty hardened after a day's "lesson" during election season.

Medicare's another issue that hasn't been discussed ad nauseum, yet its tax on society is real and pressing. What kills me are senior citizens concerned about their Medicare benefits while at the same time, are life preservers for McCain's campaign in FLA around the taxation issue. We're all making tough choices right now and we will most likely not have the same benefits. Make a choice, people!

Now if she could get her old man to do that maybe we could have some reasonable conversations.

I'd love to hear from anyone who took it the way you did. LOVE to. I can't point out how wrong they are, too.
You aren't following. The other right-leaners aren't having their motivation for supporting McCain questioned. Why do you think you are? You have this bizarre fascination with proclaiming that the board assumes you're racist, and yet you seem unable to believe that anyone other than me drew that conclusion from your defense of anti-Muslim views.

That doesn't even make sense.
I'd venture to say that I'm the only one who said so openly but I wasn't the only one who took it that way. I'm also still curious if you've put any thought into why your motivations are called into question, and not those of the other conservatives around here.

I'll say it. You sound like a complete racist to me.

Wouldn't an anti-Muslim be more of a religionist than a racist?

The current issue of Time Magazine has a pretty interesting article about how Missouri is voting. The author sits in beauty salons and stuff like that in Troy, Sedalia and other more rural areas.

I finished the article thinking MO was going to go for Obama, but that we were kind of apologetic about it, based on the quotes from the people they interviewed.

I'm not proclaiming the board says I'm racist. Just you. I don't believe the rest of the board to be that stupid.

I don't have some fascination with it, much less some "bizarre" fascination.

And I still haven't seen where I'm defending anti-Muslim views. I said they're out there. In no way did I defend them. I talk to minorities in my city all the time about the racism that exists here. I don't recall any of them stating I'm racist because I acknowledge its existence. In fact, I've been called the exact opposite of a racist too many times in my life. At least this is a first.

And I used to like you. Now....not so much.
