Oh she is a hoot. Honest, I don't think she's getting this stuff from me. Ok she knows I favor Obama but thats about it - we try to keep the poli-talk down to a minimum here. I quizzed her a bit on where she heard all this, and I tell her McCain is ok. but she stands firm with her assessment.
So I could see her chompin McCain on my behalf some... but still I wonder what's original thought versus planted there. Knowing her, I would say its more of the former than the latter.
Now when my older daughter was in Catholic school, her opinions were pretty hardened after a day's "lesson" during election season.

BW23 has already stated that his beliefs are absolute. The obvious corollary is that debate and/or reasoning is pointless. Absolute beliefs require no argument. Indeed, they would not be absolute otherwise.

I can not stand Sarah Palin. In fact, I have a real disdain for her. But by gosh golly if she wasn't so adorable on SNL.

my sister claims she heard palin say she didn't like the UN because there's too many foreigners there, and she thinks there need to be more americans on it... is this true?
i have to believe no one on earth is capable of such stupidity, but my sister is adamant...

You have made comments on this board that have really sounded awful. I'm not saying you are racist, or you are or aren't anything - I don't make that call from a collection of electronic bits. I'm just saying it sure comes across like that at times. You asked if anyone took it the way pebbles did, and I'm here to tell you I did and I know there are many others that feel the same way. So if you don't like it, proofread your posts before you put them out there to make sure they couldn't be taken the wrong way.BW23 wrote:And I used to like you. What motivations are you talking about? Stating that I'm strongly opposed to Obama? It couldn't be that I lean far to the right. It must be that I'm racist.I'd venture to say that I'm the only one who said so openly but I wasn't the only one who took it that way. I'm also still curious if you've put any thought into why your motivations are called into question, and not those of the other conservatives around here.
I'd love to hear from anyone who took it the way you did. LOVE to. I can't point out how wrong they are, too.

I've gone back and looked at it again. I guess maybe I knew my tone. But I was answering a question as to who Americans will hate next now that Muslims and Muslim Americans are the newest hated group. Now, you either believe that they are hated or that they're not. I'd say there's hate out there. Also, you have to wonder why Americans feel this way. One day changed it all.jim wrote:You have made comments on this board that have really sounded awful. I can read that post all I want, and there's nothing in it to suggest anything at all about my feelings. Only those who are trying to put my feelings into it see it.
Now, what other comments have I made that have "really sounded awful".
And other than that one post, which, again, is complete fishing, what have I said to even suggest that at times I come across racist?
I love that leftist view that if you're republican, wanting people to be responsible for their own actions, and vehemently against everything about Obama, then you're racist.

She's good at asking questions i wouldn't expect a 6 year old to answer though. It's scary how well she reads already. Just wait a year or two.Freed Roger wrote:Good deal.BW23 wrote:

Our girl's been hitting me with deep questions for quite some time. She's picking up on the reading pretty well. Amazing how it starts coming together. She interprets what she reads in a funny literal way -BW23 wrote:She's good at asking questions i wouldn't expect a 6 year old to answer though. It's scary how well she reads already. For example, we pass by this business sign below and she asks "what does T - E- Bacon - Bacon - E spell?"

...Man I love that kid.
