A plumber can make 250k if he owns his business and has several employees. That's not this guy's situation, but I find that fairly irrelevant to the question he put forth.

This is the plumbing company we use, started by one guy in 1967. It was bought by a larger company in 2005, but I'm certain they were earning over $250k before that. It's hard to drive around town without seeing one of their trucks.

I do not think it's irrelevant. Local 50 of the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters and Service Mechanics endorsed Obama because HE is the guy that will keep government out of plumbers pockets, not McCain.

Local 50 supports Obama because unions always support democrats. Democrats have been brown nosing unions forever,that won't change anytime soon.

McCain finished 4th from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy. Obama got a degree in Poly Sci from Columbia and then went on to Harvard Law School. Only the best of the best get in there, and of those best of the best Obama excelled. He was named based on his grades and a writing competition as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Big time stuff. In his second year he was elected president of the Law Review, supervising the Law Review's staff of eighty editors. Agains the best and brightest this country has to offer at Harvard Law School, Obama graduated Magnu C um Laude.

So let's take the gloves off here and get something straight. Obama acts smarter than McCain because he is smarter.

I'd like the president to be smarter than most. I don't think we'll see that again. (Not that we ever have, but these two don't cut it.)

That's the only way we judge people? How they finished at school? Nothing past that matters?

I agree that Obama is smart. I think McCain is much smarter than people give him credit for.

But I don't think either are where I'd want a president.
