I know it's a joke and blah blah blah... but "studlife" is actually the Wash U student newspaper website. That blew me away when I found out about that. And I had the same concerns originally. "studlife.com? I'm not going to studlife.com at work..."Popeye_Card wrote:Dude, there's no way I'm going to click on a link from "studlife.com" that was posted by a gay poster...clement wrote:For you Obama fans in St. Louis, here is a nice slideshow of pictures from his recent rally under the Arch.

In DC he feels they're concentrated mostly in Georgetown. But didn't mention which area of NYC. So I guess it includes all the subway stops. Like near the former World Trade Center one. That's a horrifying answer. Honestly. There was just a clip on MSNBC previewing tonight's McCain-Palin interview with Brian Williams. Williams asked Palin to define elite. And after Palin's long, rambling reply McCain pipes up "I know where they live"
Williams asks where. And McCain says: "Washington DC and New York City."

http://www.gallup.com/poll/111424/Obama ... -Vote.aspx
Jewish voters nationwide have grown increasingly comfortable with voting for Barack Obama for president since the Illinois senator secured the Democratic nomination in June. They now favor Obama over John McCain by more than 3 to 1, 74% to 22%.
...
The current proportion of U.S. Jews backing Obama is identical to the level of support the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards received in the 2004 presidential election (74%). It is only slightly lower than what Al Gore and Joe Lieberman received in 2000 (80%) -- when the first Jewish American appeared on the presidential ticket of a major party.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin
Before anyone gets a chance to ask about the IBD/TIPP poll that shows Obama head by just 1 point, the poll has McCain up 74-22 among 18 to 24 year olds:
What are the odds, given the parameters above, that a random sampling of 98 voters aged 18-24would distribute themselves 74% to McCain and 22% to Obama?
Using a binomial distribution, the odds are 54,604,929,633-to-1 against. That is, about 55 billion to one.
So, there is an 0.000000002% chance that IBD/TIPP just got really unlucky. Conversely, there is a 99.999999998% chance that one of the following things is true:
(i) They're massively undersampling the youth vote. If you only have, say, 30 young voters when you should have 100 or so in your sample, than the odds of a freak occurrence like this are significantly more likely.
-or-
(ii) Something is dramatically wrong with their sampling or weighting procedures, or their likely voter model.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin
what do you think of Obama's planned primetime infomercial next week?
article
IMO- A waste - enough already. overexposure. Stick to what's worked for you so far.
Who among the undecided's will watch vs flipping channel to "Ice Road Truckers". It could give McCain something to criticize - "elitist socialist taking over the networks for the night forcing their views on Real Americans blah blah blah"

I'm not a big fan of it either. Especially when it's broadcast on every network.Freed Roger wrote:what do you think of Obama's planned primetime infomercial next week?

I think it would be better if Obama came out and stated that he's going to ramp down campaign spending over the next couple of weeks (instead of just blowing money like this), and will donate the remaining campaign funds after Election Day to some charity of some sort. Multi-million dollar contributions to charity instead of running silly campaign ads? What a guy!
But that won't happen, of course.
