Teixeira signed on December 23 last year, so maybe there is hope for it to be done by Christmas. I certainly hope it happens soon, so there are still alternatives available if he doesn't re-sign with the Cards.

Easier for the Red Sox to sign Scutaro since they wouldnt be giving the Blue Jays their 1st round pick, instead they would be giving the Cards their first for Holliday, and a 2nd would go for Scutaro.
