They'll make the tourney, but I don't really care. This team isn't capable of doing any damage in the tournament. I'm looking forward to the next couple years with most of this roster plus Pressey, Mitchell, etc.JL21 wrote:8, or 9, or 10....
I doubt it'd kick them out of the tournament but 22-10, having lost 3 out of 4 including Nebraska and an ugly one v. KU, and only three wins (unless I'm counting wrong) against likely tournament teams (Ok. State, Texas, and K-State)... That's a pretty mediocre resumé.

75-60 loss to the Skers. Please move us down to a 10 seed.

A 10 seed is better than an 8 or 9. This is a good year to think you have a shot against a 2 seed. Does anyone fear New Mexico as a 2 seed? That's a pick em game if you can get them.
I think, ultimately, New Mexico ends up a 3, but you can see the seeds are fairly mediocre after you get past the 1 seeds.

And- no offense to PurdueSTL- but Purdue is a 2 seed but they'll be without Hummel.
As cfs82 says, though, it's moot. I'll be happy with one win in the tourney for Mizzou. That debacle yesterday was extremely disappointing. I still like the future of the program and Anderson seems to be a huge asset and blah blah blah. As it is, this year's team exceeded my expectations and took a nice step forward to cementing themselves as a force in the Big XII as long as CMA is around.

You'd be a fool to be disappointed in this year's Mizzou season...they have far exceeded all expectations from anyone I have seen.

I don't know whether to give Evan Turner credit for making a great shot or eviscerate John Beilein for a completely awful defensive strategy.

Watching it a couple of times, I don't have a problem with Beilein's strategy. Making a guy dribble a huge chunk of the court so he can put up a 40' jumpshot is preferable to anything in the paint. It would've helped if Gibson had moved towards Turner rather than backpedaling towards the basket for some odd reason, and Stu F. Douglass shouldn't have been the one trying to get a hand in Turner's face. But a strategy that forces a merely OK shooter to take a 40' jumpshot is nothing to cry about.cardsfansince82 wrote:I don't know whether to give Evan Turner credit for making a great shot or eviscerate John Beilein for a completely awful defensive strategy.
