Re: Scott Rolen for Troy Glaus almost a done deal
The more I think about it, the more I love this deal. I see no way we can get more for Rolen, and I highly doubt Rolen will ever be the same again. Glaus is a better hitter with a more attractive contract.

Will Rolen waive his no-trade to go to Toronto? I know he'd like to escape LaRussa, but Toronto? They were 18th in attendance, have not made the playoffs since 1993 and have finished less than 10 games back only 1 time in those 14 years. Any chance he blocks the deal?

More HR's Less RBI's (considering the overall HR difference). Lesser OBP. lesser SLG. Lesser OPS. More K's Less SB's. Overall base running Rolen, Overall defense Rolen. Defensively Glaus looks close but is way out shined in RF and ZR Rolen had sixty more total chances over Glaus last season well they had the same amount of errors Rolen had 1 more.

LOL @ the Bluejays becoming the Cardinals (Eckstein and Rolen), like we became the Angels.

If intangibles existed this would rid us of a clubhouse problem.

I have a feeling we are really going to regret this trade.

I haven't read the entire thread, so someone may already have said this, but outside of Rosenthal's story, there is no other confirmation. Nothing on ESPN, nothing on St. Louis Today, and Bernie has not entered the discussion on Bernie's Press Box. So I suspect that there are many out there trying unsuccessfully at this point to get confirmation of what Rosenthal has reported. Maybe it's too early to get worked up one way or the other.

Wow. I am impressed if this is true.
I have never been a big fan of Glaus, but he is a nice catch given the circumstances.
Rolen will never be the same, which makes him not very good.
Lets just hope Glaus plays well enough to opt out of the deal.
Thanks for your time here Scotty, but the time has come.
