Did you know John Wooden got his start at Indiana St? He was Athletic Director, basketball coach, teacher, and coached another sport all at the same time.

Not suprising the man was such a legend-- he's a Purdue alum!

Did you also know that Minnesota called to offer him their job (the job he really wanted, because he wanted to remain in the Midwest), but the weather was bad so he never got the message. By the time he got it, he had accepted UCLA's job, and didn't want to go back on his word.

Two years earlier, Purdue offered him the job as coach-in-waiting, but he didn't want to follow his mentor at Purdue out of respect.

Yes, I've been reading about Wooden due to interest over his birthday etc.

I really admire that guy, I went to the game at ISU last year where the named the court after him, and his wife, and he said that his wife would have loved it.

Butler University to host 3 top 25 teams in 2009-10

Post by pujols005 »

The Butler Bulldogs will play Ohio State, Xavier, and UCLA this season. The Bulldogs have been to the NCAA Tournament the past 3 seasons and they have finished the past 3 seasons in the top 25, and yes they are my favorite team.

When you post a youtube video, you have to put a "close bracket" at the end of the url. like this: <-----

You don't have to be so mean.
